Walter M. Brown
Brown concentrates his practice on employment law matters, including state and federal discrimination actions based on race, age, sex and disability. His employment practice includes a wealth of experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in cases of trade secret misappropriation and the violation of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements. Brown has experienced substantial recent growth in the representation of shareholder and shareholder groups seeking control of closely-held corporations. Brown is 1998 graduate of Texas Southern University - The Thurgood Marshall School of Law, with honors. He received his undergraduate degree in political science with a public affairs minor from Emporia State University, where he played varsity football. Brown is a member of the Missouri and Kansas Bar Associations, the Lawyers Association of Kansas City and the American Bar Association. In 2007, he served as president of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association -- YLS.
