Gaddy Geiger & Brown works with clients to find the right pricing option for each case or matter. In pricing its work, GGB seeks to align the interests of law firm and client. GGB conducts a cost-benefit analysis for each case and works with clients to address possible outcomes. GGB also reassesses the value of each case with the client at key points along the way.
As a part of this philosophy, the firm entertains contingent fee, blended rate and other result-based compensation for commercial plaintiffs, while also offering traditional hourly and flat-fee pricing for businesses and white-collar criminal matters. GGB has the flexibility to offer clients the right option for each business and budget, and GGB attorneys have the confidence to base their own compensation on the results they obtain for their clients.
Gaddy Geiger & Brown accepts select business, commercial, and securities cases on a contingent fee basis, in which the client pays nothing unless and until there is recovery in the case. Litigation costs and expenses are deducted from the total recovery before calculating the net recovery to the client and GGB. Contingent fee pricing is attractive to many clients with good claims and tight legal budgets.
A blended rate case combines hourly pricing and a share of any recovery, both at reduced increments from traditional hourly pricing and contingent fee arrangements. Blended rate pricing is attractive to many clients with a modest legal budget and the desire to share a portion of the case risk with their attorneys.
For clients seeking predictable and consistent legal expense, the firm can offer a monthly flat fee to litigate a case or docket of cases. GGB will analyze the case or docket, provide an estimate of total litigation cost, and then break down the estimated cost into regular monthly payments. If the case is concluded by dispositive motion or favorable settlement, then the payments stop. This pricing model can provide clients with a measure of cost certainty in an uncertain process.
In a hybrid flat-fee arrangement, the client prices one phase of the case on a monthly flat fee, then prices another phase of the case on traditional hourly billing. For example, a client may choose to price the initial pleading through pretrial conference on a monthly flat fee, then transition to hourly billing for trial. Gaddy Geiger & Brown leaves the range of possible pricing combinations to anything upon which the firm and client agree.
In addition to the alternative pricing models listed above, Gaddy Geiger & Brown also continues to work with clients on the basis of the traditional billable hour. Although the firm is eager to work with clients on innovative pricing arrangements, many clients are most comfortable with typical hourly-based fees.
