W. Brian Gaddy

Brian Gaddy is a trial lawyer with over 15 years experience. Mr. Gaddy’s practice has emphasized the representation of individuals and businesses in white collar criminal matters, including grand jury and agency investigations, regulatory and administrative inquiries, and criminal prosecutions and appeals. Mr. Gaddy also has experience advising clients in connection with parallel civil and administrative proceedings that often arise during a white-collar criminal investigation or prosecution.

Mr. Gaddy has particular experience representing businesses and individuals in connection with allegations of health care fraud, securities fraud, commodities trading fraud, corporate accounting fraud and embezzlement, mortgage fraud, bank fraud, money laundering, environmental crimes, computer and technology-related crimes, telecommunications matters, public corruption and bribery cases, tax offenses, antitrust matters, federal forfeiture proceedings, mail and wire fraud, and consumer protection matters. Mr. Gaddy has also assisted businesses with corporate governance issues, internal investigations, and responding to regulatory or criminal inquiries.

Mr. Gaddy has been recognized in the Best Lawyers in America since 2007 in the areas of white collar criminal law and general criminal law. He has been named as “Best of the Bar” by the Kansas City Business Journal and has been featured as a “Super Lawyer” for Missouri and Kansas in the area of white collar criminal defense. Mr. Gaddy serves on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also currently serves as the Chair of the Federal Practice Committee for the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and is an instructor for the Ross T. Roberts Inn of Court program.

Mr. Gaddy is a 1994 graduate with distinction from the UMKC School of Law. He served as technical editor on the UMKC Law Review and received American Jurisprudence Awards for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. During law school, Mr. Gaddy was the recipient of the Ralph S. Latshaw Award for Outstanding Student in Criminal Law Courses. Mr. Gaddy received his undergraduate degree in accounting in 1990 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Mr. Gaddy served for seven years as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the UMKC School of Law. He has authored numerous legal articles and lectured extensively on criminal law topics. He is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the American Bar Association.
