Matt Geiger Matt Geiger has represented family-owned companies to Fortune 500 conglomerates as plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of business disputes.  These cases have included contract, shareholder and insurance coverage litigation, business torts and misrepresentations, professional negligence, officer and director liability, construction litigation, trade secret misappropriation and the violation of restrictive covenants, such as non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. Geiger's civil practice has experienced substantial recent growth in the representation of shareholder and membership groups seeking control of closely-held corporations and limited liability companies.  Geiger also has represented clients in cases before the Kansas Corporation Commission, the Missouri Gaming Commission, the Missouri Board of Healing Arts and the Kansas Bank Commission.

Geiger has concentrated his white-collar criminal defense practice in the area of federal fraud and corruption, with particular emphasis in health care fraud, bank fraud, tax fraud, computer and Internet fraud and money laundering cases.  He also has represented multiple clients in Antitrust and environmental investigations. Geiger advises clients and other lawyers in responding to government investigations, and he has organized and managed numerous internal investigations conducted by organizational clients. 

Geiger is a 1998 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, with distinction, where he competed on the National Trial Team and served as note editor for the Oklahoma Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree in journalism with a business management minor, cum laude, from the same institution in 1995. Geiger has published articles on the United States Sentencing Guidelines and the federal enforcement of health care fraud and abuse. He has lectured on the subjects of corporate internal investigations, corporate cooperation and the Thompson Memorandum, and the local rules of procedure in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Geiger is a member of the Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma Bar Associations, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
